Description

This 1957 MG A Roadster has been well cared for by the last custodian for the past 16 years. As an example, the car was subjected to some £15,000 of expenditure in 2016 with Classic Restorations Scotland Ltd which included upgrading the front brakes to discs along with a complete brake overhaul with new lines, new brake master cylinder and clutch master cylinder. In addition an EZ power steering unit was fitted. Among many other items on the list was the replacement of all four tyres and a carb overhaul.. The pictures say it all with this car which remains in excellent shape with the odd paint blemish, but otherwise a very well turned out car. The interior is in good order although the seats are showing their age in places. The car has recently been MOT'd and came through without any advisories.

The panel alignment on the car is excellent with the doors sitting nice and flush with the wings. The engine starts on the button and runs cleanly. The car drives exceptionally well. The added benefit of electric power steering which can be adjusted in strength to suit your driving combined with the front brake disc upgrade makes this a lovely MG to drive.

This car was originally a US export as many were and when it arrived in the UK in 1998 it was subjected to a total restoration including a full engine strip down which is documented by photographs on file. The car was converted to right hand drive during that restoration and we have photographs on file of it in its original left hand drive form.

The history file is thick with invoices over the last twenty years along with old MOT certificates and photographs of the full restoration which took place in 1998.

The car has a current MOT until June 2021 and an inspection of the DVLA records will show it has almost a spotless record since their online records began in 2006. The car has recently been serviced and checked through by us and is ready for its next custodian. We think this car is excellent value at the asking price of £21,995.
