Description

This 1967 Jaguar MK2 3.8 presents in exceptional condition having received a complete restoration costing just short of $110,000 (£60,000) by International Motorsport in New Zealand during 2011/2012. The car was originally a right hand drive export car to NewZealand where it resided until 2016. The restoration was as complete as it can be with a complete body and mechanical strip down. The car was painted in its original colour of black to an exceptionally high standard as the photographs will demonstrate and very importantly the original interior which has been very well preserved remains with the car giving you the true MK2 experience and retaining the fabulous leather aroma when entering the cockpit. The car also benefits from power steering. This is one of the youngest MK2s in existence and just 44 cars were manufactured after this one before production came to an end. Having spent nearly all of its life in New Zealand the body has been very well preserved and the panels are all exceptional with excellent gaps. The engine fires up on the button and runs cleanly and pulls well as you would expect of a car that has been completely restored. The engine bay is nicely detailed and the interior wood has also been nicely restored.

The history file is also comprehensive with the original New Zealand registration document present along with original transfer documents which show the ownership history of the car from new until the last owner in New Zealand who had the comprehensive restoration undertaken. The car was originally supplied by Shorters Cars in New Zealand and in fact David Shorter acquired the car in 1985 and kept it for 25 years before it passed to the last owner in New Zealand. The file also includes a heritage certificate which confirms that the car is matching numbers and retains its original colour and interior. The owner's manual and other original documentation including the original registration certificate is also supplied with the car. The invoices relating to the 2011 restoration are all present along with other miscellaneous invoices over the years. The car also has its original King Dick jack and a full original tool box.

This car is a really lovely combination of its black paint and original red leather with chrome wire wheels. The pictures say it all, you are buying a car that has had everything done and is undoubtedly one of the best available today especially at the asking price of £37,995
