The Mazda MX5 has become a member of many car enthusiast families due to its longevity, total reliability, and its reputation of emulating the ground breaking Lotus Elan of the 1960s, with the added bonus that it is totally reliable as well. It provides spirited twincam performance and road-holding, with the good looks to match. Young and older, men and women, are able to equally enjoy the use of this flexible little sportscar.

One of its great attributes is the hood opening and locking mechanism. Anybody who has owned a MGB or similar will immediately appreciate the simplicity of operating the hood on this car. No need to get wet.

The model we have for sale is the sought after 1997 MK1 car with the Elan type pop-up headlamps, again which work reliably . This car is a Eunos which was imported from Japan and has power steering and the 1.8, 16 valve engine which provides a healthy 131 bhp. Although these cars boast engines which last for well over 150,000 miles, this car has only done 48,000 miles from new. Being made for the Japanese market the speedometer is calibrated in km. The car truly is in delightful original condition.

The comprehensive history file contains all the MOTs back to 2001, the original sales brochure and various servicing invoices. Four new tyres were fitted last year which have seen very little wear. It has a current MOT until August 2018.
