Description

1932 Morris Minor Tourer – 2 seater boat tail.

This is a very rare Morris Minor Two Seater Tourer which we believe started life with a fabric boat tail body. The car was supplied in 1932 by James Fryer based in Hereford and Leominster which shows on a dashboard plate which remains today. The car was discovered as a barn find in recent years and has been lovingly restored to its former glory with new body work. The restoration has been very thorough with the chassis blasted and painted, a full engine rebuild and a new interior which has created a very pretty car. The brightwork on the car is all excellent. The radiator has also been re-cored recently which is never a cheap exercise. The car is fitted with indicators which is a welcome upgrade for modern traffic conditions and the brakes are hydraulic which means it stops well for a pre war car. There is a full tonneau cover as well.

The 848cc side valve engine starts on the button and runs cleanly. As a driving car it is surprisingly nippy and comfortable considering it is over 80 years old.

This is a lovely car which is in super condition. William Morris’ first move into the small car market was intended to compete with the Austin Seven and the arrival of the two seater Morris Minor tourer in the early 30s certainly met that challenge.

The history file contains miscellaneous invoices relating to the recent restoration as well as some photographs of the car during the restoration work. This car is a rare opportunity to own a very pretty version of the two seater tourer. We believe there are only a handful of cars in existence that were fitted with this body.
