Description

This 1965 MGB Roadster is undoubtedly one of the best if not the best car on the market at this time and at a competitive price. It was subject to a £38,000 restoration by Lenham Sports Cars in 2016/2017 and has completed less than 1,000 miles since then. In addition it is a car that still retains its original albeit fully rebuilt engine and the car retains its original colour of Iris Blue. The car was originally supplied by Caffyns in Tonbridge and the car is therefore still close to where it was originally supplied.

When you spend £38,000 on restoring an MGB the finished product is generally better than new and this car certainly fits the bill. The underside of the car is painted and is as good as the top. The panel fits are all excellent and the overall paint finish is to a high standard. The engine bay is like new as is the interior and with less than 1,000 miles since the restoration the car presents exceptionally well.

Everything on the car has either been refurbished or replaced and the invoices on file detail the restoration along with a disc of photographs. The engine has been rebuilt along with the gearbox and all aspects such as the brakes, fuel lines, petrol tank etc have been renewed. The list is too long for here, but suffice to say you are getting as close to a new MGB as you can get for half the cost.

The car is fitted with a high torque starter motor and fires up almost instantly. The engine is clearly very well set up as it is extremely responsive and actually drives a lot better than a 26,000 mile car which we also have in stock. The cabin area has all been renewed as you will see from the photographs and the car is a joy to drive.

The history file includes a heritage certificate which confirms the numbers and that this is a matching numbers car in its original colour. The file actually goes back to the 80s and details a previous engine rebuild along with other miscellaneous works carried out over the years. The car was last serviced in March of this year and it has been regularly serviced since the rebuild took place.

Overall, this is a superb MGB and we believe it represents fabulous value given the recent expense and the fact that you are effectively getting a new car for half the price. Act quick as we do not expect this one to hang around.
